Betrayal.io, one of the two major END GAME INTERACTIVE indie games, is a web and mobile cross-platform social deduction game that takes inspiration from several other games including Mafia, Among Us, Werewolf, and Witch of Salem. Players can enter private or public lobbies and participate in Core Mode games (where players are assigned Crewmate, Betrayer, Sheriff, and Jester roles) or, specifically in private lobbies, can participate in Mimic Mode (where players can also be assigned the role of a Mimic Betrayer). Each lobby supports up to twelve (12) participants.
To give each player a sense of uniqueness, they can apply their Google or Facebook account to be able to change their name and cosmetics. In their house, players are able to change their profile picture from one of four avatars, view their game statistics, and change their name. With every change, their friend code is updated, but does not remove themselves from anyone else's friend lists. If they wish to change how they look to other players outside of their name, they can use a wardrobe in any of the major END GAME INTERACTIVE games.
Within lobbies and active shootings for the Betrayal movie, where players are the actors, they are assigned an unoccupied number from 1 to 12 that orders their vote results in non-anonymous votes within the game, orders their position in meetings, and appears next to their name to make them identifiable except for when they are mimicked or become a Mimic. This is the equivalent to character colors in Among Us and player names in other social deduction board games.
